Rebounding Bites Chargers Again

Rebounding Bites Chargers Again

GRAND RAPIDS (MI) - In what unfortunately seems like a trend this season, the Marian University Ancilla Men's Basketball team struggled to keep up on the boards with the Raiders of Grand Rapids Wednesday night, resulting in a hard-fought loss, 112-87. The Chargers are scoring plenty of points each time out, but the 53-28 rebounding advantage by the Raiders was certainly a catalyst.

Sophomore Kenneth Grant overcame the Marian Ancilla shooting woes (32-86, 37% as a team) to go 11-24 from the field and 6-11 from downtown, pouring in 33 points on the night. The 6-1 guard added 3 rebounds and collected a steal in the loss. Freshman Omari Evans added a solid 20 points, 5 rebounds, 5 steals, and a pair of assists to the effort.

The Chargers are back in action tomorrow, Saturday (1/24/26), as they host Kalamazoo Valley Community College at the LifePlex at 3:00p. This is typically a double-header with the Women's Basketball team, however, KVCC cancelled its WBB season due to health/low numbers, so it's a Men's only contest. Please come out and support the Charger Men tomorrow, if you are able!!
