PLYMOUTH (IN) - It can be real easy to look at a team's record and make assumptions, but if you've watched the Marian University Ancilla Men's Basketball team play, one thing is certain...they battle all game every game. Four of their last six contests have been in single digits, with two of them coming down to a single possession. Looking for their first MCCAA conference win of the season, the Chargers dropped a 104-96 result to the Grand Rapids Raiders Saturday afternoon in a game that was even closer than the score indicates. The Chargers led at several points throughout the game, including in the final 10 minutes, but they just couldn't pull out that first MCCAA victory.

Freshman guard Omari Evans was spectacular inside the arc, as he finished a number of pull-ups and acrobatic layups in traffic to score 32 points on the afternoon. He was 14-17 inside the arc, plus he handed out 8 assists and pulled in 6 rebounds on the day. Sophomore guard Kenneth Grant complemented him by shooting it well from outside, burying 5-9 shots from 3-point range and totaling 17 points. Freshman guard Shawn Donaldson added 14 points, 6 assists, and 5 rebounds, while Freshman guard Cristian Webster scored 12 points in just 12 minutes off the bench.

The Chargers have three more chances to pick up that first conference win. Wednesday (2/18), they travel to Kalamazoo Valley Community College for a Men's only game. That matchup is set to tip at 7:30p. Saturday (2/21) they are back at home for their final home contest of the year, as they host Lake Michigan College at approximately 3:00p. Then, next Tuesday (2/24), they head to Kellogg Community College for an approximate 7:30p tipoff. Their last matchup with Kellogg was a 104-101 barn-burner. Please come out and support the Chargers, if you are able!!
