MARION (IN) - Friday & Saturday, the Marian University Ancilla Men's Track & Field team began their outdoor season in exciting fashion, as several of the runners set school records and/or personal bests throughout the entirety of the event. While field events took place on Friday, it was Saturday's action that left its mark in the school record book.
Freshman Dylan Goff was a part of all three men's records that were set on Saturday. In the 200m, Dylan ran a school record 23.40 seconds, good enough for 36th Place overall. In the 400m race, he set another school record, running a time of 51.90 seconds, good enough for 21st Place. Dylan then combined with Freshmen Ben Andrew & Wilkinson Elma, plus Sophomore Sonny Gilbert, as the quartet set a school record in the 4x100m relay with a time of 45.71 seconds, placing them 7th overall at the event.
Additional performances that stood out from Saturday included Freshman Omari Evans' sub-24-second 200m, running it in a time of 23.91 seconds, good enough for 44th Place overall. Wilkinson Elma wasn't far behind, posting a time of 24.28 seconds. Sonny Gilbert set a personal best in the same event, recording a time of 24.60 seconds, while Sophomore Anthony Hughes ran a personal best time of 24.76 seconds. Hughes also set a PR in the 100m, running that race in the time of 12.18 seconds.
