Following a weekend in which they split a pair of games in Chicago, the Marian University Ancilla Women's Basketball team returned to campus to find out their Thursday (12/18) game with Community Christian would be postponed to February, and they would be short-handed Saturday (12/20) against Terra State, as leading scorer & rebounder Santana Eubanks was unable to play. Still, the Chargers put forth a tremendous effort, especially at the defensive end of the floor, where they held the Titans to just 32 points through three quarters, before finally pulling away to win, 65-52.
Fellow Sophomores Annika Davis and Aaliyah Keil stepped up, as they have done throughout their careers. Davis was 6-11 from the field, 3-5 from long range, scoring 17 points. She also collected 4 rebounds and dished out 4 assists on the afternoon. Keil added 15 points of her own and nearly posted a double-double as she hauled in 9 caroms. Keil also assisted on 3 of her teammates' baskets. Freshman wing Tianna Guy stepped into the starting lineup and chipped in 8 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists herself.
The Chargers are now idle until they return to campus for the second semester. They begin 2026 with a trip to the College of DuPage on Saturday, January 3rd, followed by a home date on Tuesday, January 6th, against Community Christian, then MCCAA conference play beings Saturday, January 10th. Enjoy your holiday season, then please come out and support the 8-2 Chargers, if you are able!!
