LAKEVILLE (IN) - The Lake Michigan Red Hawks have been a thorn in the side of the Marian Ancilla Baseball team this year, and Monday afternoon the Red Hawks won both games of a double-header (7-2 & 21-6) to complete the 5-game sweep in this MCCAA rivalry series. Below is a quick look at some highlights from each of Monday's games. Both games were played at Newton Park in Lakeville, Indiana, due to MUAC field conditions.

GAME-1 (L 7-2): In Game-1, it was 1-1 after 1 inning of play, but the Red Hawks added 2 in the 2nd and 1 in the 3rd and never looked back. Sophomore Evan Lanphier had a pair of singles and drove in a run for the Chargers, while Freshman Cade Quick was responsible for driving in the other run. Sophomore Jose Paris smacked a double, and Redshirt Freshman Owen Negron matched Lanphier with a pair of singles as well. Freshman pitcher Isaiah Vaca pitched the final 2 1/3 innings without allowing an earned run.

GAME-2 (L 21-6): Through 4 innings of action, the Chargers trailed just 7-6 and were re-energized following their 3 runs in the bottom of the 4th inning. But the Red Hawks added 2 in the 5th, 1 in the 6th, and a whopping 11 runs in the top of the 7th to finish the game with a 21-6 margin. Freshman Armando Arroyo had a single, a double, and drove in 3 runs. Freshman Cayden Nolan also had a single and a double, and he drove in 2 runs. Redshirt Freshman Owen Negron drove in the other Charger run. Sophomore Logan Clark was 2-for-2 with 3 runs scored, and he roped a double as well, while Sophomore Aayden Antoine hit a double as well in his only at-bat.

The Chargers will return to action this Thursday when they travel to Kalamazoo Valley Community College for a double-header at 2:00p & 4:30p. They will return home to face those same Cougars on Saturday at 1:00p & 3:00p. Please come out and support the Baseball team, if you are able!!
